The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce apex body of Karnataka film industry has come out strongly on the reality shows held in various TV channels.

Pointing to Kichcha Sudeep ‘Big Boss 4’ KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu moved the statement of producer A Ganesh in forming a ‘Human Chain’ in front of Colors Kannada to stop Kichcha Sudeep to enter the venue on 9th of October. It is because of reality shows Kannada films are facing death in the box office. All the actors are in reality show today – Sudeep, Shivarajakumar, Ganesh, Jaggesh, Rachita Ram etc are in the different reality shows.

We would request Artists Association President Dr Ambarish to take action in this and solve the stars becoming bane to the collections of Kannada films. With top actors seen in small screen the audiences are not coming to theatres on the one side. Secondly the evening night shows are going blank.

Thomas D Souza former KFCC President explained the situation of stars going to reality show is a death blow to industry. It is the duty of Kannada film stars to save the cinema industry first. Without asking they should come forward to support industry. It is because they are invited for reality shows, they rock in the small screen and film collections are going poor he stated.

Let us form chain and detain our stars from entering the TV channels says A Ganesh, RS Gowda on the other side came out openly to give what they earn from TV channels to the films they sign for Kannada producers. Let each top star work for three to four films, we have producers to give what remuneration required he said.

With such protest on the one side on the TV bosses and top stars the KFCC also urge the TV channels to buy small time producers Kannada films. Each channel should at least buy 25 films each every year, then the producer is saved is the call.

On the issue of theatre rents charging heavily, the KFCC suggested percentage system for the films instead of weekly rentals.

On the release of five to eight films in Kannada, KFCC has formed a screening committee once again. It is advising in right way to the producers to release the films.
